Major efforts globally are under way to try and stem the serious decline in most of the planet’s seven marine turtle species. Five of those special have been found in Thai waters although it is thought the loggerhead turtle long ago disappeared. The Sea Turtle Conservation Centre is attempting to increase the number of leatherback, green, hawsbill and olive ridley turtles.
